Pros

In-depth training, very generous vacation benefits and insurance coverage.

Cons

Shifts available - I was given 2 non-consecutive days off. Pay was just a little over minimum wage and really horrible for the work required. A benefit to me was thinking that it could lead to opportunities within the company, but in training we learned that even to apply for another call center position in another location - the only option was to quit, move to the other location and then apply. The final straw was learning that bathroom breaks were only to be done during scheduled breaks or the 1 % of personal time given each day, even if you were sick and really needed to use the bathroom.

Pros

Great organization, wonderful leadership and training. Pharmacists were excellent in handling urgent needs of callers. Benefits began after 30 days and were industry standard. PTO system was great, you were able to select hours and were able to see what was available, without checking with a supervisor.

Cons

Did not like the hours. I worked the later shift & the other departments - billing/ insurance were not open for business. I was not able to immediately provide an answer or transfer the patient to that department.

It paid the bills.

Pros

There weren't many pros other than getting a regular paycheck.

Cons

It's Express Scripts, so the pharmacy benefits are as terrible as the age-old "Medco" reputation goes. As for the work, there were many false promises without follow through. There was no training to speak of, everyone was just thrown to the wolves and expected to perform. Management spends more time eating food in conference rooms than working. I knew it was not the job for me within the first 3 days, but I stuck it out as long as I could, hoping for those "promises" to come through.

Pros

Young people I really got along with, decent benefits, close to home, nice facility

Cons

Worked lots of weekends and holidays, often without comp days. Lots of turnover, poor communication between mgmt and staff, no training.

Pros

Location was fair for where I lived and the supervisors seemed nice and would mostly work with you. The benefits were fine. Coworkers made things easier.

Cons

Pay should be higher for position. Training wasn't actually training and they pretty much threw us on the phones and no one knew what they were doing to perform the job well. Be sure to be ready for unexpected changes and switching between multiple supervisors at a time.

Pros

Great pay. Generous time off (if you can find the time to take it). Excellent coworkers.

Cons

Demanding deadlines. Marginal Tools. Inexperienced "leaders" who treat employees and contractors like indentured slaves. Lack of training and complete chaos nearly all the time. Failing outsource model. Projects have 7-10 gate keepers and only 1 or 2 workers. Very stressful.

Numbers driven!

Pros

The company offers excellent benefits and generous time according to the length of employment.

Cons

Numbers driven where across all departments you are require to submit your "numbers" that is used to determine business needs and jobs. Previously was hired under Medco where the focus was Training and Quality to improve Patient experience, ESI is far from that concept and the number of what you've done is more important than the quality of work. The pay was ok but not compensated as well as the former company Medco.

Pros

Good Pay and benefits provided. Most of the people on the Administrative Assistant level were great to work with and helpful to a new person coming in.

Cons

Horrible treatment by "boss". Received very little training, supervisor would not communicate and treated me like dirt. Paid my Karma 10 times over when having to deal with this one.

Pros

The Pros are the people who I work with. They are the only reason I can last 8 hours a day.

Cons

The culture at KC UBC is toxic. Employees got in trouble for complaining from upper management when we requested more training. UBC prefers people who work to meet the minimum and fly under the radar. They prefer to be reactive rather than proactive because being proactive involves too much effort. Negative reactions when you try to go above and beyond.
