Pros

Our direct supervisor is great but is not able to improve our desperate situation due to constraints from upper management.

Cons

No work-life balance at all. Daily quotas are Working 12 to 14 hour days. Computer system is old , slow and not user-friendly. Sometimes prescription errors are impossible to correct and are being shipped to patients even after being reported by pharmacists.

Pros

Great pay, outstanding senior leadership (Director & Senior Manager), fabulous colleagues (fellow Supervisors). Pretty good severance packages.

Cons

Hired 120 temp employees off the street and expected them to produce at a high level. Senior upper management foreseen great business only to lay off the entire department in less than 6 months. Went live on 01/05/2015 and was completely eliminated by mid February 2015.

Pros

Great Benefits, PTO, Health Care, Pay is about average if not in IT. Typically great management at the middle level. Some work from home, flex schedule, and overall a very Professional environment as long as your not in the call center.

Cons

Awful development opportunities. No training - consistently baptism by fire at ESI. Though the middle management level seems to be of high quality, the upper management; typically the Director and Sr. Director level leaders are really poor. There is a major disconnect there. Sr Leadership to include VP's and up will give one message, that's not followed by upper management, but that's then followed by middle management. Depending on where you will work in this company and your leadership will completely change the Pros and Cons with this company. Overall poor work/life balance but again it all depends on where you'll work.

A Company Spooked By These Reviews

Pros

Few if any: Work at home is allowed but limited. Bonus for upper management Free prescription benefits if using mail order pharmacy

Cons

* No work life balance * Compensation for phone and Internet access for work at home employees withdrawn after merger * constantly shifting goals and plans * constant organizational changes * year-end calibrations rigged to justify quick terminations, rather than actual employee performance and skill set * in my experience, the stingiest company I have ever worked for * old, antiquated equipment (still running 5+ year old laptops with W-XP on a majority of employee platforms)

Pros

Vacation if you could take it. They do not have enough open slots to accommodate all the employees vacations for the year.

Cons

Quality of life/ Quota work. Causes unnecessary daily stress. Have to work until completed a "stretch" number of points. Most Work at Home pharmacists have to work significantly over 40 hours each week. There are pharmacists who work 60-70 hrs each week to hit the quota. The production results in facilities are much lower than those for the Work at Home team. Management brags about the extreme Work at Home pharmacist production levels. Well of course, teams of pharmacist who work over 50 hours a week will be more productive than those who only work 40 hours per week. Upper management response “this job is not for everyone”. So lets recap: you get paid for 40 hours but your work week is much over that. Management claims most pharmacist only work 40 hours/wk but amazingly all your coworkers are working as much as you. Also since everyone has the same production numbers it is very difficult to get an Exceeds on your evaluations for your annual raise.

Pros

Fairly solid company for employment opportunities in St. Louis.

Cons

Working hard and seniority mean nothing to upper management. NJ employees are constantly wondering when next layoff will happen.

Pros

Decent pay for the area. Advancement opportunity. Great coworkers. Upper management at this location are all awesome. I would def. recommend.

Cons

The training could use some tweaking. Need to hire reps more often to reduce call volume. The food in the cafeteria is a bit pricey.

Senior Patient Care Advocate-Inbound Call Team

Pros

I used to enjoy my job until we merged with Medco and my department became a call team. My role is not defined as a customer service rep, but it feels like I am in some sense.

Cons

The department that I work in feels as though it's slowly dwindling away even though upper management states that it's not. We have daily changes to our work processes and policies and procedures. Raises never seem like enough. Speaking to disgruntled patients and having limitations on what you can actually do to help

Pros

The Pros are the people who I work with. They are the only reason I can last 8 hours a day.

Cons

The culture at KC UBC is toxic. Employees got in trouble for complaining from upper management when we requested more training. UBC prefers people who work to meet the minimum and fly under the radar. They prefer to be reactive rather than proactive because being proactive involves too much effort. Negative reactions when you try to go above and beyond.
