The atmosphere and culture of FHP is like no other place I've been.
Pros
The environment at FHP is simply amazing. Within our department, everyone is family. We stick together and have each other's back. Outside of the department, this friendly atmosphere continues. No matter where I go within this building, I'm greeted with friendly smiles and caring attitudes whether it is in the cafe, hallways, or by management. There are a ton of opportunities for personal development and continuing education. If I have any issues, I know I can go to my direct supervisor or director. This hospital administration goes out of their way to make the employee feel welcome and appreciated. I enjoy knowing that I work for an organization that cares for it's employees as much as it cares for it's patients.
Cons
The cafe closes at midnight, and re-opens at 0600, which can make it difficult for those working night shift if you are busy. Also, this hospital does not have a tier system for RNs with incentives to raise from RN I to RN II or so on with additional education, certifications, or the like.
