Don't be fooled

Pros

They offer kid snacks and have a regular yoga class.

Cons

They simply lack talent and insist on using outdated tech. Don't get dragged into this mess, it is a bad career move if you plan to advance in your field.

A lot of talk- don’t be fooled

Pros

There are some really great people in the mix. Benefits are good

Cons

Do not be fooled by the promises of a “great culture”- there is no culture anymore, the new leadership after Fred has made sure of that. Employees are not appreciated and all decisions are made by either the head of the company or a very small group of managers without consideration of employees. The environment is toxic and you are made to sit down, shut up, do your job and never get a thanks for anything. Unless of course you are deemed one of the “untouchable favorites” who the rules don’t apply to- but good luck with that, because that hierarchy is pretty established at this point. Do not be fooled by the bells and whistles they try to sell you on- getting to wear comfy clothes to work and free pop only get you so far! Oh, and talk or promise of career advancement? That’s a joke too! They are only looking out for their own interests So buyer beware!!

Pros

This is a company that takes care of its employees. There aren't many companies that will keep someone around if they're cut out for the job, if they're failing, if they get into trouble with substance abuse, but I've seen Foundation Software's executive management give people second and third chances, move them around to try to find a position in which they'll be successful, listen to what it is you really want to do in the organization and try as much as possible to make it happen for you. If they see potential in you enough to hire you, they'll bend over backwards to see that through and keep you here. If you ever get a chance to know the CEO, the president and the other managers, you'll learn how that's not just (though it is also) a practical business decision; there's a whole lot of compassion and sincerity behind it. They want to be a great company, have great people and be great to them. It's a really, really rare thing, but it's here. The culture also means what it says. No formal dress code isn't just a consolation so that it comes across as a hip, laid-back place to work. Bureaucracy is a four-letter word at Foundation. Rules are kept to a bare minimum. Relationships are king. The idea is that if you're here, you're hired because they believe you have a high aptitude, you're hard-working, you're driven. Be that, and they'll do everything they can do create an environment for you to be successful and stay for a long career.

Cons

Transitioning from a small family company into a company of 200+ and growing quickly is hard. Organization can become a little confusing. Communication can break down like in any company. Bureaucracy isn't all bad, so they sometimes might lose the baby with the bathwater for fear of becoming too structured. There are a lot of changes that happen continuously, so that could be either exciting for you or frustrating.
