Leadership needs to be more aware

Pros

Benefits, few good people left, working for K12 Education.

Cons

Here it has become the epitome of distrust, misinformation and pure power play. The positions and titles have gone into peoples heads. These folks managed to get all the good, hardworking folks out the door. Even the senior leaders are gone now. This leadership drives core nano management. There is almost zero trust. Everyone seems to be watching their own backs. The leadership is always pushing the decisions on you without any healthy discussions, meeting outcomes are predetermined. The place is run using fear as leverage. If only they could just follow the core values it would be a great help. There are never any good things said. No kudos for accomplishments, it is mostly criticism all the time. It was great earlier on, central organizations and not so many splintered groups running their own show. Work was done very professionally and all of us had a chance to grow and build. Great leaders too. There were common processes and methodologies. There were healthy discussions and debates. Work used to get done and delivered faster. We have created so many artificial processes that more than 60% of our day is utilized on data entry and task updates. We are not using the tools, the tools are using us. Tools and processes are not a religion, but are frameworks and guidelines. Productivity is at the lowest due to a million processes in place creating low morale. With most of the SME's across the board gone there seems to be a constant struggle to drive the product future. We keep building stuff WE want, not what the customers need. I am sure that no complains or concerns we make are ever leaving this office. A few of the good folks I work with are about to make the exit - the best ones, they feel there will not be any change here. The mantra seems 'Make the employees feel miserable and not doing good enough, so they can push themselves harder' - how is this even right.

Thank you for providing such straightforward and open feedback. Please know that we take your thoughts to heart and will work to address your concerns as best we can. While we have increased the structure and processes behind our work, this was done to allow for the growth and scalability of the company which in turn will allow for employee growth and development as well as more robust client support and success programs. While there are always growing pains associated with this approach, we truly value our employees and reflect deeply when and if we lose hard-working team members and emerging leaders. We are working every day to create the best environment for our employees and our customers, we hope that you will continue to see these efforts in the ongoing discussions, initiatives, process enhancements and strategic changes happening here at Frontline. While surveys are a major part of getting the pulse of team members, we would welcome the opportunity to build that trust and discuss your feedback in-depth. Please feel free to reach out and see how we can work together to have greater impact.

Pros

Work/life flexibility Supportive management Culture of collaboration Benefits much better than any other company I've seen Beautiful office space Opportunity to work with latest technologies and employ new methods

Cons

Rapid growth leads to change. Not everyone wants to be in a dynamic work environment where priorities can shift and work hours can go beyond 9-5 on occasion.

Pros

After 20 years in the tech business, I am finally in a place that gets me. My whole career up to this point was managers telling me "no". I got bad reviews because I urged those companies to be better. Not at Frontline. The leadership at Frontline wants to hear new ideas. The old way isn't good enough. They encourage people to shake things up and discover better ways to accomplish their goals. At Frontline my voice is heard. Not only am I tolerated, but I'm rewarded for my effort. I never knew that a career could be so rewarding. Working for a place that truly understands what you bring to the table and encourages you, makes it all worthwhile. And on top of all of that, we just recently received a handsome equity payout. It was much larger than I ever expected. Certainly, no company ever did that for me. I love coming to work in the morning.

Cons

The office, while very nice, is in the middle of nowhere. Being closer to the city, or near public transit would be a huge improvement.
