Pros
Working in the stores is great if you just want to fly under the radar and collect a check. Good place to meet and work with other gamers. Would recommend as a 2nd job or after-school gig, but not full-time.
Cons
Pay is low even by specialty retail standards. Does not offer much in the way of career growth - in terms of both on-the-job learning and career advancement. Associates are given very low-level of responsibility and management is often over-worked, under-paid, and taking themselves way too seriously in efforts to get promoted (an offer that very rarely presents itself before the manager finds a better position elsewhere).
