Great work/life balance, good pay, exciting company culture, and transparent leadership.

Cons

Tech leaders are doing away with Work/Life balance (via DevOps) and offshoring 2000 jobs to India. Until this new crop of leaders this was my favorite job.

Pros

I gained a lot of experience for my current role. Experience was gained entirely on my own, no help from managers or teammates.

Cons

I was a contractor at Gap Inc. for the Women’s Merchandising team and have never been treated more poorly in a professional work environment before. Management has no respect for contractors, they see them as insignificant and “not a part of the team” (this was said to my face). I was expected to work long hours but then fussed at for using overtime. Extensive work was given without any guidance or help. Permanent jobs were promised without any follow through. Overall, the disrespect for contractors gave me a permanent bad taste in my mouth for this company.

Cons

Always expected to work on day off or after hours due to corporate mishandling of operations, supervisors obsess over brand card results over contribution. No work life balance, benefits are expensive for family - about 500 month for premium hra plan.
