Pros

- Located in a beautiful building on the water with cool art works and a nice patio over looking the bay. - Laid-back environment (you're selling jeans). Work from home Fridays and the building clears out by 4. - Decent benefits and nice discount at stores - Lots of opportunities for climbing the ladder, if you prefer very unstructured environments and near chaos (due to the cons).

Cons

- About to undergo layoffs and restructuring. Didn't pay bonuses last year. Unlikely to pay bonuses next year. - Poorly structured (lots of redundancy across the brands due to decentralization) and siloed (IT and analytics have an adversarial relationship). They hope to fix this with the upcoming spinoff of Old Navy, though management is unlikely to pull it off successfully. - Poor technology (e.g. "data scientists" are actually analysts and the "cutting edge" at Gap is building PowerBI dashboards using SQL).

Pros

Discounts on clothing for yourself, family and friends. Like the clothing, hated working in the call center.

Cons

Have to find a new cubicle to sit in everyday as they don't believe in assigning a cube unless you're in management. The computer applications that you need to use everyday suck. Very buggy and frustrating to use. Quite a few customers felt entitled to be jerks. Was told I could get a one-hour lunch and then on orientation, told that everyone only gets a half-hour which I found out is a lie. Lied about how much they could pay and then hiring others with the same experience for more. High turnover rate of employees.

Pros

Good work life balance for SF-Bay Area

Cons

Terrible, crony-stocked leadership - look at GPS stock price since 2012. Company split off of Old Navy has been bungled from the start, starting from the messaging all the way to the future state. No one below C-suite was provided retention bonuses after everyone in the company had their fairly-earned 2018 bonus unjustly withheld. No wonder people are leaving in droves. Morale is ~the lowest~ in the 10+ years I've spent here.
