Pros

Team was great. By team I mean my immediate peers. Lots of potential overtime if you need it. Good benefits. Laid back environment. Good pay.

Cons

Supervisor level and up is disconnected from the front lines. If you're someone who can sell without help you'll love it. If you've always avoided sales and expect to learn that skill and grow in it don't waste your time. Coaching consists of sage advice such as "ask more questions" and drawing stupid graphs on white boards. You'll be expected to provide exceptional service to the customer, but at the end of the days that is not at all what matters. The almighty dollar is king and if you don't jump on board with that notion you'll be be gone fairly quick. Do just enough to make the customer go away, but make sure you sell them something before they do. Scare tactics commonplace to "help" the customer improve their business. The general customer you speak with has been conditioned to think email is free in general. That said the majority of calls are email password resets and walking customers through fixing email client issues. The technically challenged can waste half to even a full hour of your time because they don't know what they're doing.

Thank you for your feedback both in things you appreciated and things you think we can improve on. We continually work to strike the right balance and to be quite honest very few people end up or leave the company because they are placed on PIP's. We do have minimum expectations for folks who can't meet minimum requirements of the role. Keep in mind these bare minimums have been set by the peer group and the performance by the members in the individual groups based on their performance, not leadership. If you can't meet the bare minimum standards of the role, it's likely not a good job fit. The best people are folks who are technical, understand the value of delivering an exceptional service experience and that actually does include sales. Sales is not a bad thing, being able to uncover needs of our customers, open that conversation up and presenting a customer with a solution to their needs is a perfectly good outcome and one that we won't shy away from. We owe it to our customers to provide that if we are truly offering an exceptional sales experience. If the customer says yes, we earn a share of their wallet and their trust and deliver on our promise of our mission, if they customer says no, we have still done our job well and they know they can depend on us to fulfill on our mission that we promised to them. I am not sure what happened in your particular scenario, but I'd be more than happy to review it should you decide to reach out. You can reach out to me directly and I'll be more than happy to review your particular case as it is possible it may have went wrong and we'd want to address those concerns.

Thank you for your candid feedback. We offer more-than-competitive wage, bonus and benefit plans for our employees with a newly renovated Hiawatha facility. Our call routing has remained the same for a number of years and GoDaddy becoming a publicly traded company in April 2015 hasn't impacted that. Leadership concerns and feedback is always welcome. If you'd like, you can contact me directly at rvm@godaddy.com or our People Operations department at HR@godaddy.com.

Thank you for your feedback. We are always looking to improve the culture and employee/customer experience. Allow me to address some of your concerns and steps we have made to improve the perception. - 1st as far as hiring qualified people: Moving up in the company as big and diverse as GoDaddy has always been a challenge to date . It was shared with us in our annual employee survey the GDvoice. Based upon powerful feedback received from our employees across the company we have just recently rolled out a career path strategy that outlines the certifications, knowledge and traits needed to move to other roles in the company. The ability to maintain the minimum expectations in your current role is a must, the ability to consult and understand the customers’ business will be necessary for some of the roles, but not for others. This guide has helped to clearly identify roles in the company that many may not of known existed as well as clear outline on how to prepare yourself to be a great candidate when applying. 2nd - Management out of touch. As you know we have an extremely open door policy. We encourage everyone to come to any level of leadership with concerns so we can work to improve. We also have our internal employee user voice forum so employees can express concerns and have other employee's vote it up to help us evaluate what we need to tackle first. 3rd- Vacations and sick time. At GoDaddy we value the importance of time away from work. We offer a generous time off plan where in the first year you can accrue 15 days of vacation, 2 personal days and 5 sick days. Due to the needs of our customers we ask that you plan ahead for the time off 7 days in advance. We understand that emergencies arise. In these situations if you have personal or sick time available you can use as needed with no write ups or disciplinary consequences. Sincerely, Brad Ehly Customer Care Director
