Pros

The group of tax professionals were quite friendly, pleasant, and personable. The overall work environment was professional without being stuffy. Scheduling was very flexible.

Cons

The cost for services is very high - perhaps immorally so for those with little to no income. Also, the surcharges for refund anticipation loans were quite extravagant. HR Block is probably better than other payday lenders, but the whole industry is somewhat tainted. All employees preferred when the initial rush was over and more established clients who could afford the services began to arrive.

Pros

Excellent training; friendly co-workers and management on location; working with customers; company is very well organized

Cons

Pay was low, but okay for starter; upper management seemed to make it VERY difficult for managers on location--they were extremely stressed; selling products the clients could not afford, nor did they need; hours vary excessively due to the nature of the business
