Pros

Good work environment, your manager and coworkers treat you well.

Cons

Management outside of your location doesn't care about you. They can cut your hours due to budget restrictions at any time. Plus the position is seasonal and open for about 4 months. Being close to a giant window makes it very hard to stay warm.

Pros

During the Busy Tax season, the work is almost non-stop.

Cons

During the main tax season, they do everything possible to prevent overtime, despite the needs of the clients. During the Preseason (Apr 16-Dec 31), they force all preseason employees to take a mandatory 8 week furlough, and then when not on the furlough, you are to be capped at <15 hours a week (Not enough to live on. The company does this so that they are not required to provide benefits to anyone that is not in the mid to senior level management (District General Managers and up). Management is made up of non Tax Professional, but general business managers. Back before the Passing of Henry Bloch, the last co-founder of the corporation, it was bought up by basically venture capitalists, who only care about their pay and not those who earn the money that they pocket. I currently am finishing week number 12 of my 8 week furlough (nice way to treat your employees)!
