Pros

Best training in individual taxation in the industry

Cons

This is employment for individuals who have another sources of income. This is a purely part time position. On top of that the company expects you to develop new business without pay and then claims the client as the company's and not as your client. Company is so absorbed with its brand, it does not value it professional CPA's and EA's. This is a low wage part time job paying at about the level of what can be earned at a fast-foods job. On top of that, its full service face to face product is declining because the company has a cumbersome outdated administrative software system that does not integrate seamlessly with its tax preparation program. Management model is very hierarchical and it is hard for ideas to move up to the top. This is a company that is in trouble.

Pros

During different times of year you have great flexibility in work schedule. Some good perks depending on your position. Pay was average.

Cons

During busy times you are 100% consumed with work. DGM's who have most tenure still use vert antiquated styles and don't really know how to manage people or business the right way. You never knew after each tax season if you still had a job or not.

Pros

Somewhat flexible schedule Additional training available (required) each year to improve your tax skills and earning potential.

Cons

Poor pay, especially first year. Training program only covered 2/3 of material. The rest is "self-study" with no instructor, you must pass all quizzes or take them over until you do. No person is responsible for "on-boarding", process is poorly communicated and all last minute, through various people. In this region, even office managers are frustrated with poor communication and management.
