Pros

Flexible work schedule you set your hours. Training is one of the best in the industry. Good team environment.

Cons

Starting pay is abysmally low and makes it difficult to retain people. Pay for offseason work by highly experienced tax pros is peanuts.

Pros

Excellent and unparalleled continuing ed.

Cons

Clients do not respect the tax preparers' expertise. The requirements for continuing ed were too much for what they paid you. You have to solicit your own clients. They want you to upsell things that the client does not need. Other preparers steal your clients. It's all commission based, so you might work at 4 hour shift and make $0. They pay you an hourly draw based on a percentage of last season's earnings, but any time you are in there doing nothing and getting paid your draw, it reduces your end of year "bonus"--excess of what you made in commissions over your draw.
