Pros

Great hours full-time benefits are excellent. Great environment to work in on the IT support side.

Cons

Alot of drive due to how big houston is. Each district is very wide. Not much of a con but you do have to provide support to both hardware and software users.

Pros

Other employees are nice... However, managament will play employees against you... destroying any respect between the employees and team leaders.. thus, why they go through so many in 3 months..

Cons

This position is all about kissing up to the management in Utah. They care nothing about the people or the clients. They go through several Team Leaders every season. Over the past 5 years they have yet to find anyone that is willing to stay for this position. Manager will belittle you and expect you to do the same to the other employees. Management is the worst Ive ever seen. You are promised much in the beginning yet are never able to receive those benefits as they let each person go just before being able to achieve the benefit. Therefore, the top management in Utah receives the bonuses not the Team Leaders that worked so hard for them.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're sorry to hear that your time in the Team Leader role was difficult. While we're glad you found your coworkers supportive, it's clear that your experience with management and communication did not meet expectations. We take concerns like these seriously and are committed to fostering a respectful and supportive work environment for all employees.

Pros

1. Leadership Experience – This role would allow me to gain hands-on leadership and management experience by assisting in overseeing tax professionals and office operations, which would be valuable for my career growth. 2. Client Interaction & Problem-Solving– I enjoy working with clients and finding solutions to their needs. This position would give me the opportunity to develop strong customer service and problem-solving skills while ensuring smooth office operations. 3. Training & Professional Development – H&R Block offers training and development programs, including tax preparation courses and leadership training. I appreciate opportunities to grow my skills and advance in my career.

Cons

1. Seasonal Employment – Since this role is primarily seasonal, it may not provide year-round job stability or benefits, which means I might need to find other work during the off-season. 2. High-Pressure Environment During Tax Season – The job can be stressful, especially during peak tax season, with tight deadlines, long hours, and a high volume of clients needing assistance. 3. Limited Advancement Opportunities – While H&R Block offers training programs, long-term career advancement may be limited, especially since seasonal employees are not always retained year-round. 4. Dealing with Difficult Clients – As with any customer-facing role, I may encounter frustrated or upset clients, particularly when they have tax-related concerns or disputes.
