H&R Block reviews about "pay"

Pay..... plain and simple, fast food workers get paid more, and the freedom and lack of stress hardly compensates for it.

It is only seasonal, the pay wasn't super great,

- I was told not to tell anyone asking about pricing about our exact pricing - Low pay - No benefits - Being expected to accommodate clients who demanded same day appointments/walk-ins - Being expected to do cold calling while handling clients in person and incoming calls at the same time - I was not fully trained in person on how to locate specific forms in the system which led to me being shamed by a Tax Pro who - System for cold calling was not updated regularly to reflect which clients came back to file

Low pay Long hours Not flexible

Not a lot of fresh air Low starting pay

Pay is not high, Sometimes you will get rude customers and coworkers might have issues with each other

Hard to get fired Seasonal work Work life balance Hours Fluctuate "Tax Pros" will micro manage you Heavy work load

Intensely long hours during tax season. Work life balance is kinda a lie. Management struggles to retain new associates as they are not equipped to train and help them grow. Pay is low compared to other companies, as you grow in the company it barely increases. I have met so many software engineers who worked at block over 10 years and are still making under 100k year. A lot of management is Indian, which is not a problem, but they hire other Indians exclusively. The only diversity I’m seeing is the addition of associates from the accelerator program they have.

Low pay for the responsibility you have.
