Pros
I've been meaning to write this for a long time because Hackerone is easily the best place I have worked at in my almost 15 year career. The company itself is successful because we have an amazing product, great clients, and a wonderful team. I came here because I was so impressed with the executive team but knew little about the space. Our executive team strives to hire smart people from diverse backgrounds, who are hard workers and team players. Across all the teams there is an openness and supportive attitude so it feels like all the managers have the same approach to winning as a team. As a woman in the tech industry I cannot recommend this company enough. I am one of the only ladies on the sales team but it is the least "bro" like sales environments I've seen. Everyone is supportive of hiring and promoting women in our company and we have one of the biggest and most diverse Lean In groups I've seen. Our CEO (who is male) is even a part of it. In addition there are a number of women who have children and the support both during pregnancy and in returning to work is outstanding for any company, let alone a startup. My CEO once mentioned offhand that if we don't give good support to people at HackerOne who have babies, then we won't have the best people possible to work here.
Cons
Sometimes it's hard to feel close to the team in the Netherlands. We do a lot to try to bridge the distance but having more exchanges across teams (not just engineering) would help things feel more cohesive.
