Pros

It was a chance to work for an esteemed company and one of the great American consumer brands. Hallmark offered excellent work/life balance, good pay, smart and creative co-workers, outstanding headquarter amenities and plenty of training opportunities.

Cons

Hallmark has struggled to adapt to the digital economy and its management has been unable to form and stick with a clear vision for the company. The company has lost a lot of its creative talent in recent years due to retirements and layoffs. Hallmark is also top-heavy with middle- and senior management who often seem more interested in protecting their political standing than helping to find solutions that will secure the company's future.

Pros

Great flexibility, close to home

Cons

I don't mind that it's part-time hours or even working holidays, but it is never enough budgeted hours to do your job properly. I service a VERY busy Walmart in one of the largest city in the US. They want you to get the product out as soon as it arrives, but you can't put the product out while your department looks like a tornado just came thru it. I spend most of my time putting things that were already out back into the correct location. Everyday I walk into my department there's multiple stacks of "go backs" that the Walmart employees have found all over the store. So first I have to put all those cards back into their correct pockets before I can even start on the new product. I'm suppose to service my store 5 days a week. They usually only allow me between 8 and 10 hours per week. Mondays are the worst! I spend roughly 2 hours cleaning up from the weekend and 2 hours putting out as much new product as possible. I'm left with 4 to 6 hours for the rest of the week. I usually get at least 3 shipments of multiple boxes per week. I'm always behind. This easy part-time job should not make you feel so stressed. I work as hard and fast as I can, but just don't have enough time to do my job properly. I'm embarrassed by the way I have to leave my department everyday. It not only reflects bad on the company, but on me as well. Hallmark obviously doesn't care about how they present themselves. I'm currently looking for a new job.

Pros

Nice to work alone. Some of the tasks are easy, almost enjoyable. You get to decide what time you start, hours are pretty flexible.

Cons

Too few hours stretched out over 5 days hardly seems worth it, barely breaking even with the amount you'll spend on gas. Too much work to fit into such a short amount of time, you never get everything done, and then you get attitude from territory supervisor for things not being 100% perfect. Many of the store managers and other workers can be rude and unpleasant.
