Pros

Great pay with residual opportunities. You can easily make 80k-100k your first year. During AEP they bring in food, prizes, gift cards and take care of those who work hard. Last AEP, myself and a few others made over 30K ( in a 7 week period). However, we had to work for it. It doesn't always come easy. There is a lot to take in when you first start (information) if you are a Broker. You need to really put in the effort up front. Don't complain, argue, or be that negative person who goes around telling everyone that you used to make so much more money before you started working there. When I first started, I worked 50-60 hours a week. Came in early, stayed late and put in the effort. Guess what...the results came. I make an honest $4500-6000 during non AEP months. During AEP I make about 35K. It gets easier the longer you stay. The leads do get better as you show an increase in production. Why on Earth would they give the best leads to the people complaining, whom are not producing and haven't proven themselves in any other way aside from being the office Debbie Downer. I now work about 40 hours a week, have a very flexible schedule and work from home from time to time. . Snowball effect applies. Work hard - things become easy and great very quickly. Complain - You end up getting let go /walking out and rushing home to write a complaint because you couldn't make it.

Cons

The Company is far from perfect and still has a lot of work to do. The benefits are not the best, training is being improved but still has a ways to go. Not a place to make a lot of friends (lots do not make it) Supervisors do not get paid enough. The room for opportunity is there...but why would someone want to make less money and take on more responsibility. Also upper Management needs to be more transparent. Many of the temps that get hired on during AEP are promised perm positions and are later let go without notice. Yes they are temps...but we could be a little more forward with them.

Great feedback! The part about working hard and being rewarded is true across the company. We acknowledge we are not perfect, but are striving to be the best in the industry. We constantly are looking at our benefits, our training programs, as well as our recruiting strategies. The important thing is that we continue to improve. Thank you for your input.

Pros

Learned about the irresponsable disregard a sales company can exhibit towards their staff Was fired from my first job, and learned how exhillirating that is when the company you work for shows no decorum toward humanity Perfect timing of discharge/reacclimation towards execution of education/career goals

Cons

Disengenous upper management that displays absolutely no remote sense of logistical fairness/sense towards company goals/outcomes nor staff. Full pressure on agents who were primarily new agents to sell with no real benefit, particularly considering they expected the said sales to be made posed no benefit toward clientelle. The quotas were reasonably unnattainable Watched as newly hired team got picked apart and fired due to quota till was last man standing Reached quotas besides one and was fired following AEP The model seems to be offer "full time" then discharge following AEP for financial reasons. Realization that lower management likely has become numb to the realities of human nature/decency with every similar, adverse outcome they've personally experienced through their trials in the industry. So they're perfect for this company's role and niche for them. Recognition of societal implications of disingenuous management

Work hard and there is opportunity for growth

Pros

I have been given a lot of opportunities with Health Plan One. I was a fast tracker - HealthPlanOne helped me get my health license. I was then promoted to a supervisor position and now I am in management. It is fantastic how much upper management want to see you grow and succeed.

Cons

Pains at times like any business can face - due to growth and the newer virtual environment. However, the dedication and teamwork I see among all employees is amazing. Work life balance is difficult but when you see everyone around you work so hard you tend to want to do the same.

Pros

Used to be good sales job before 2020. Fun and profitable but that wasn't enough for upper management.

Cons

Leads have gone downhill and intense micro-management. They are all about sales but that job you have to have ethics first or you can ruin someone's retirement and remaining years.

Amazing Place to Work

Pros

- Fun, relaxed environment. Sales is definitely competitive but in a GOOD way. - Upper management is extremely approachable and cares about their employees - They WILL do everything they can to help you succeed. They will give you all the tools you need and all the guidance you could ever ask for. They do regular coachings with their brokers and are always looking for ways to help you improve and grow; not just as an agent, but a person as well. - There's always bonus opportunities - Sales competitions with prizes that people actually like and want - Overall attitude of the people who work there is amazing. Ridiculously nice and always willing to help you if you have a question - Upper Management genuinely listens to your concerns and suggestions. Town Hall meetings are common and productive! - Very flexible in terms of scheduling after you've been there for a month or so. Never a problem if you have an appointment or any obligation really - Progressing within the company is very much possible. They almost exclusively hire from within - This company is a family. You will love the people you work with and leaving will be hard. It was for me.

Cons

- Some of the lower-level management are not as experienced as they should be - Micromanaging

Pros

-Work from home during Pandemic -Company will pay for licensing. Its good to get your feet wet, but not a long term employer.

Cons

- Poor leadership. Even when issues are presented to upper management about consistent leadership issues, nothing is done to correct them. -They rarely promote talent from within and choose favorites when hiring for seasonal positions. Veteran agents are passed up for these positions every year without being told there is a position available. - Low pay across the board, including commissions - Supervisors are never around or accounted for. Teams have to rely on each other to get through the day - NO COMMUNICATION. -High turnover -If you produce a lot of sales, you will never move up from a sales position. You are stuck as a sales agent.

Pros

For the most part if you come in every day and give 100% each and every day, keep off the radar, and avoid politics then you will do fine.

Cons

You need to watch your timecard very carefully because first line Supervisors will change your timecard and remove any overtime unless it is during a period when overtime is approved. If you experience this, of course report it internally but also report it to the Department of Labor as it will have little to no impact on the Supervisor, (who might even get promoted even if upper management is made aware), when reported internally. Otherwise a good company to work for.
