Inconsistent hours: Full-time hours were promised, a minimum 36 hours of direct client care, during hiring but often fell far short, causing financial instability. A coworker of mine received 18 hours during one week. Another coworker had no clients during one day of their work week, they should have been given admin time. High turnover: Many staff leave quickly, which disrupts client care. Lack of transparency: Policies and expectations sometimes change without clear communication. Limited support: Staff training is minimal after onboarding, and management is often unavailable for guidance. "Tougher" clients can be given to RBTs who just finished training after about 2 weeks. Work-life balance issues: Last-minute schedule changes make planning personal time difficult. Management asks staff to be available from 8am-6pm M-F, but cannot afford to pay all employees full-time wages.

I can’t list all of them in one message. This is a money-hungry corporate business, and it’s really sad to see how they treat their employees and clients. In a field where clients should take priority, they don’t. Stakeholders don’t receive communication and neither do staff. If you have conflicts, the HR system is based on “he said, she said,” with no evidence. It’s complicated for most employees. It takes a little bad blood and someone can get you terminated by simply stating a lie. I’ve had a handful of coworkers who have been terminated for things they never did. That is partly why I chose to leave this company. You will not get paid enough. Competing locations nearby will pay you $25+ as a STARTING rate. This place pays $18/hr, but expects over 40 hours of work a week. They don’t let you log the overtime hours if they exceed 20% of your client facing hours. As a result, I had to write session notes and do anything other than sessions in unpaid time. The environment is really toxic. The majority of employees experience being victims of bullying. My coworker was recently admitted into a psychiatric hospital due to the trauma from this work place, and it has been really sad to see what one company can do to a lovely person. If you don’t have friends, you don’t get invited to work events or you are not offered shared lunches and things like this. The employees make group chats to make fun of other staff members behind their backs. People leave “losers” nasty notes. People will go as far as taking your data sheets mid session and hiding them in the clinic to mess with your flow. It’s really tough. I think the biggest problem here is that ethical violations get swept under the rug. I’ve seen a lot of things go: pushing kids, forcing kids to do things, not changing pull-ups/diapers, vaping in front of clients, marijuana products in the clinic… When these things are reported, there’s usually just a company wide email that says “don’t do _, it is unacceptable.” But there’s no action taken when these things are reported, so they continue on and on.
