Pros

Really great recruiting of awesome people, particularly at the mid-manager level. Solid attempts at creating a fun culture with themed happy hours and office parties. Generous vacation time. Culture is laid back and most (though not all) C-level folks are approachable.

Cons

Where to even start... The nature of the business just makes it a drab work environment (direct mail). People are miserable and morale is generally very low, though everyone is afraid of saying something. Management can't make up their minds on decisions and people are constantly doing 3x the work as a result. Speaking of work, they make decisions that are ultimately good for the business by bringing in MORE partners, but there are not enough people to do all of it.

Pros

HomeServe has a great business model, and there are some real superstar employees in the company. There's never a dull moment.

Cons

The level of incompetence is extremely high and prevalent as are the accompanying overly aggressive and unreasonable attitudes of many of the key players. Also, there are many clueless underlings that are merely sucking up money and subsequently many of the younger employees leave in order to build a better resume elsewhere. Workload is incredibly unbalanced with certain persons suffering frequent physical and mental problems brought on by stress. Very aggressive deadlines without proper balancing of priorities. "CYA" mentality is a stronger driver than desire for successful teamwork with higher quality of work.

Pros

The company is firmly committed to doing the right thing for both it's members and staff. From top to bottom the team here are engaged, enthusiastic and empowered to treat our customers as they would like to be treated, which creates a very enjoyable culture to work in. I feel privileged to work for a company that cares about me as an individual and shows this on a regular basis and would gladly recommend a career with HomeServe to all of my friends and family.

Cons

I dont have any concerns with working here, I genuinely enjoy coming into work each day.
