Pros

Salaries are competitive. Office is nice in Scottsdale.

Cons

Management team uses an outdated model. Very top down. The merger was an unpleasant experience especially for JCL employees. All or most of the management jobs went to Scottsdale people. The cultures were very different. JCL was a great place to work prior to the merger but I wouldn't choose to go back and I'm hearing the same thing from other middle managers - both clinical & at the business office.

Pros

Large, multi-hospital system. In recent years the John C Lincoln Healthcare system and Scottsdale Healthcare systems merged to created this new conglomerate.

Cons

This system grew too fast with the merger; dealing with the new size and merge has proven difficult. RN pay is low, and moral can be low; particularly in the smaller hospitals (Thompson Peak Pkwy). Additionally, the push to keep cost down can lead to unsafe practices.

Growing too big.

Pros

Benefits are very good. Medical insurance coverage in my eye is excellent. Prescription coverage is excellent too.

Cons

Merging with another hospital group has created a very bad working environment. Constant cut backs with staff and supplies. Hard to get anything done with less and less.
