Pros

The company culture is one of the best I've ever had the pleasure to be a part of. Everyone is so friendly and caring.

Cons

We are told to share our ideas however most of the time, it doesn't matter as nothing is ever done about it. InMotion Hosting says they want growth but aren't willing to take risks to grow. Upper management has been slowly becoming more and more disconnected from the Floor and/or normal daily tasks.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. It is always great to hear that our team members helped to make your time with us enjoyable, we are very thankful to have such an amazing team. One of our core values that we operate under is We Improve. We are invested in finding ways we can improve our products and services for our customers and as a result of that commitment, we have a number of different ways to submit ideas for improvement. One example is Operation Improve where team members can submit ideas or suggestions and report common issues encountered during daily operations. Leaders from multiple departments are responsible for reviewing submissions, coordinating with other departments to assess the impacts and ability to make the change, and implementing improvements. Monetary rewards are even given for submissions implemented that have measurable improvement value. We currently have 20 submissions that are in the process of being implemented. With the vast majority of our team members working remotely, we have found new ways to stay connected and ensure consistent communication across departments to continue to foster a collaborative environment and prevent information silos. Quarterly Town Hall Meetings, project based teams and monthly cross-functional meetings among leaders are among a few of the ways our departments connect on a regular basis. We also have our Great Place To Start (GPS) Program which gives new hires an opportunity to expand their internal network by pairing them with a team member outside of their department who can provide guidance and answer questions they may have during regular check-ins and foster that cross-departemental collaboration. Again, we appreciate your feedback and it has been shared with leadership. Please feel free to reach out to recruiters@inmotionhosting.com if you have any additional information you would like to share.

Pros

The company provides valuable skills in Linux, WordPress, DNS, and web hosting support, which can serve as a solid foundation for career growth. I had the privilege of working with some great teammates who were always willing to help, some still friends with me till this day. Moving up from entry-level to APS was a highlight of my time there. The transition to remote work during COVID-19 provided WFH, though it came at a cultural cost.

Cons

The company only offers cost-of-living raises, which are negligible. Even after years of service, pay remains stagnant. This was one of the main reasons I left when another company offered better pay and a higher position. Training materials can be incorrect or outdated. Most people quickly disregard what they learn in training and rely on peers for accurate information. Chronic understaffing leads to high turnover rates. The company often fails to replace teams, leaving remaining employees to pick up the slack. This cycle of burnout and turnover has persisted for years. Coverage is inconsistent. Breaks are frequently delayed, and workdays can range from dead periods to overwhelming back-to-back contacts. The company prefers offering gifts over meaningful pay raises. Bonuses are difficult to achieve, and it often feels like they’re intentionally out of reach. There is no leniency for external issues like power outages or internet disruptions, which count against employees and can lead to termination. The fun office culture, including free lunches, snacks, and coffee, disappeared with the shift to remote work. While remote work saves on gas, the overall morale has dropped significantly. New roles, products, and responsibilities are added without proper communication or preparation. The virtual meetings lack substance, often becoming sessions where employees vent their stress. Attempts at engagement, like game tournaments, feel lackluster (e.g., Kahoot trivia games).

Thank you for providing your feedback. We appreciate your contributions during your time with us and are glad to hear that you found value in the skills you gained, the career opportunities, and the amazing team members that helped to make your time with us more enjoyable. In an effort to provide a broad total compensation package, our benefits include medical benefits, paid time off, paid holidays, profit sharing, time off to volunteer in your community, and a 401K savings plan with company match opportunities. We are also proud to support our Team Members by offering different opportunities such as Walk-a-Day, Career Coaching, and reimbursement for courses and certifications to help grow their skill sets. We also review position compensation bands annually and administer increases related to performance. Our team regularly reviews contact volume and looks at anticipated volume in order to create our schedules so we can continue to provide assistance to customers in a timely fashion. To manage contact volume in real time, we recently introduced new Workflow Management Specialists to our team that monitor and assign volume in order to make adjustments as contact volume changes. In addition, our Customer Success team recently expanded the growth opportunities that are available with the creation of two Expert designation roles: Customer Service Representative E and Advanced Product Support E. When it comes to taking breaks, we do have a system in place that schedules team members for breaks in a way that maintains consistent coverage for our customers. However, there are times when the team members who are supposed to be on break need more time to finish assisting the current customer they are working with, and breaks can get pushed back slightly. Department leaders partner together to be prepared for any anticipated changes in volume and prioritize communication regarding any unexpected impacts. Supervisors will also assist with contact or help route them when needed, to ensure breaks are being taken. When team members are unable to work due to certain situations out of their control, such as outages, we work with the team member to see if there is anything we can do to help fix the situation. Solutions for team members may include calling their power or internet company or working with our Internal IT team to help with troubleshooting hardware or software. We will review the situations as they come up on a case by case basis but, in most cases, this does not impact the team member’s metrics. While we are glad that we are in a position to provide the flexibility of remote work to the majority of team members, we do acknowledge that it can be challenging to maintain an effective level of engagement. We have been intentional in our efforts to use technology to help maintain a culture where we connect and collaborate as a team all while having fun with things like prize raffles and team builder activities. When changes are made within the company or to our products, department leaders partner with our Training team to develop updated materials and notify our team members. We also have numerous slack channels for immediate updates that may be relevant to a particular team. Additionally, leaders and our Training team are regularly working to add to our knowledge base and ensure courses are updated with the latest information. Your feedback has been passed along to our Leadership team so we can continue to assess how to make InMotion Hosting a great place to work. Thank you again for sharing your feedback, and please feel free to reach out to recruiters@inmotionhosting.com if you have any additional information you would like to share.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are glad to hear you appreciated the opportunity to work from home. We understand managing multiple chats can be challenging. Our current expectation for the Technical Support role is a maximum of 2 customers via chat at a time. This ensures our team members are able to provide the highest quality of service to our customers. In order to maintain coverage for our customers, we do have a system in place that schedules team members for breaks and ensures necessary coverage for incoming contacts. However, there are times when the team members who are supposed to be on break need more time to finish assisting the current customer they are working with and breaks can get pushed back slightly. We strive hard to create an environment in which everyone has the tools and support needed to succeed. Our internal knowledge base contains articles to assist team members with helping our customers. Continued Education trainings focus on both technical and soft skills and are available to all team members with new courses added regularly by our dedicated training team. Our Employee Suggestion Program, Town Hall meetings, skip-level meetings, office hours, and open door policy are in place for team members who have questions, suggestions, or concerns as a way to communicate with leaders at varying levels. We review position compensation bands regularly and administer base pay increases related to performance on an annual basis. We also focus on providing a broad total compensation package, which includes medical benefits, paid time off, paid holidays, profit sharing, time off to volunteer in your community, 401K savings plan with company match opportunities and other additional benefits as well. Again, we appreciate your feedback as we are always looking to improve. If there is anything else you would like to share, please reach out to us at recruiters@inmotionhosting.com.
