Pros

Near fox bros BBQ? Can't think of any positives. Oh wait! They are really good at marketing themselves. So good that they post fake reviews on this site and they get old negative reviews deleted. My last review got deleted. Hopefully this one stays.

Cons

Way under market pay. Expected to work 70-80 hr weeks. They sell this through a "team" culture and by reminding us all how much we are "helping" people. We sell stupid ads. The so called "freedom leave" has hard limits. It was just a change to clear employees accumulated PTO off the books. When they announced it to us they literally said "This will let us clear a great load off our books." A great load indeed. They have way too many managers to actual engineers. Managers who don't know anything about programming who think they do. Getting the C-level suite to try to implement a simple clone of twitter is the same proposition as giving a million monkeys keyboards and waiting for them to write out Shakespeare. Never going to happen. A single real engineer could knock a basic clone out in half a day easy. They also go out of their way to tie engineering hands and trip them up. In short, if you are an engineer this job will make you angry and let your skills rot. All while overworking and underpaying you.

We regret to hear that your experience working at Influence Health has been so poor. Contrary to what your experience has led you to believe, we do value feedback from our employees and are working hard to incorporate employees' suggestions to continuously make Influence Health a better place to work. This includes feedback received via Glassdoor, an independent site that does not allow employers to edit, modify, or delete reviews. For more information on Glassdoor's policies, please see the FAQ page located at https://www.glassdoor.com/employers/start/common-questions.htm. Regarding your work schedule concerns, most employees are very favorable regarding our unlimited time-off policy, which has no pre-set limits. As stated in the policy, it is up to each manager and employee to collaborate regarding time-off requests to accommodate employees whenever possible, while still ensuring the team and work do not suffer. If you feel your manager is operating outside the framework of the policy, we would encourage you to speak confidentially with HR so that your specific concerns can be researched and addressed.

Nothing to See Here, Move Along

Pros

You can take as much time off as you want. If you are in the in-crowd, you can get away with whatever you want. Work, don't work, be accurate, don't be accurate, upper management doesn't really care. Just claim things are good to go, and no one will be the wiser.

Cons

There is no advancement from within. You will be stuck doing the same job. The more you screw up, the better a chance at being promoted. Salary wages are considerably lower than most comparable corporations. No consideration for employees needs, HR is a complete joke. There is no communication between teams. Employees who work hard are treated terribly, while people who can't get out of their own way are put in charge. If you like the game of "Telephone" this is the company for you!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and providing the opportunity for us to respond. As we have shared with all employees, a clear theme that emerged from our last two engagement surveys was the need for Influence Health to invest in a more formal career planning program for all employees. We recognize that we hire bright, ambitious, talented people who expect and deserve the opportunity to "do more" over time with the company, and we are committed to making the path to professional growth more obvious with clear steps and achievement milestones that lead to progression. In keeping with the development of a culture focused on clarity, simplicity, personal accountability, and "finishing" what we set out to do, we are also working to create clear quantitative metrics for every department and team that allow us to measure progress, celebrate wins, and address misses. While we are not perfect yet, we believe we are well on our way to becoming a data- and metric-driven, performance-oriented organization.

If It Looks Too Good to Be True, It Is!

Pros

Good pay and benefits, good people and unlimited time-off.

Cons

While the culture is great and things seem great, at some point, the tide will turn. No matter how well you have performed and what contributions you have made to meet goals and deadline, if you do not fit into the ever-changing vision of the company, you are expendable. I have seen good people come and go in a very short period of time.
