Pros

By the end, the only good thing about this job was my coworkers. And most of them ended up quitting before I finally did.

Cons

I worked as a registrar for a healthcare company who decided to start outsourcing its revenue stream to R1. That meant that myself and all the other registrars at the hospital became r1 employees, and just like that what used to be a perfect part time job turned horrible. They switched everyone's shifts, cut our insurance and other benefits, and didn't replace the many people who left as a result. I count these problems as Intermountain's fault, not R1's. It was my direct management that made the switch from Intermountain to R1 so unbearable.

Pros

Pay is good, work life balance is great.

Cons

Management actively discriminates against LGBT people. If you have a doctors appointment that will take more than two hours they require you to take the entire day off. Feedback is vague and often lacking in specifics and is therefore not actionable. If they decide they don’t like you they will make life miserable to force you to quit. They are also not above lying about why they are terminating you. All but two members of IA’s management team have any integrity and the Chief Audit Officer is very anti-LGBT. The department has a VERY high turnover ratio.

Pros

Good work life balance. Pension and retirement plan is very good.

Cons

Senior leadership seems bent on saving money at the cost of the lowest paid employees.
