Polarizing - pick your team wisely!

Pros

* The best of both worlds: the excitement and opportunity of a start-up, with the budgets of LVMH. All brands are growing extremely fast which gives a lot of opportunity to make a difference in the organization on a daily basis * Some of the most passionate and smart people in the industry - not afraid to do things differently, challenge each other but also go that extra mile for their colleagues while having a good sense of humor. * Competitive pay & Amazing benefits: 20 paid PTO days, summer Fridays (!!), a ton of parties, paid lunches, amazing office and generous 401K + matching charity donations * Some of the best brands in the industry are part of the kendo portfolio for a reason. Crazy ideas are encouraged and supported. The best environment to learn, be entrepreneurial and learn the robes of the beauty world.

Cons

A lot of the good, bad and ugly in all the past reviews are true. Kendo is a polarizing environment. * Pick your VP and team wisely: There are some amazing senior execs with Kendo and there are some bad apples that have been there too long and will defend their job in every way possible i.e. taking credit & back stab any potential threat, rather than building up talented people. You'll notice during the different interview rounds (the benefit of doing 10 interviews for 1 position) - don't be afraid to ask! * The CEO and GM are among the best storytellers and brand builders in the industry. The CEO is a true visionary. However, he does not like to talk about operations. This is reflected in what side of the business is getting the least attention, budget and celebrations: operations, customer service, and logistics. Again, pick the right manager + brand and you'll have an amazing job, but be critical otherwise, you'll join the 1* reviewers within 6 months. * You have to like chaos! A decade of double/triple digit growth does not leave a lot of time for process and structure. This is currently changing, but you have to be comfortable with ambiguity.

Pros

There are a handful of really hard working people who are so sweet and so nice, but they never last long.

Cons

I don't even know where to begin. I worked for another LVMH maison and while nowhere is perfect, I could not believe how terrible Kendo was in comparison. They expect you to literally fight for everything you need to do your job. And even when you do fight for resources you may be told "I'm so sick of hearing about this" from leadership. Also the structuring is bizarre. Like others have mentioned 5 brands under one company leads to competition, but also Brand acts as this weird catchall for functions that honestly shouldn't be dealing with each other. Speaking of which, if you do work here expect to do the work of three people. Everyone has at least one "side hustle". There are no absolutely perks to working here. It is super cut off from LVMH. I honestly have no idea why LVMH hasn't totally shut this place down. The brands that do well under Kendo should be standalones, maybe then they'd realize just how terribly they're running these brands. TLDR - this place is the slum of LVMH, if you hold any sort of value for you sanity do not work here.
