Cons

-too little pay (18 an hour ) for insane call volume: i was getting like non-stop calls -company only cares about clients -Some clients are very dumb; the low level workers in insurance companies. they make you explain the simplest stuff multiple times

Thank you for leaving a review. Language access can be far more than transactional. It is not the mere exchange of words, as one would trade one currency for another. When done right, it is transformational, allowing our clients to understand not just what their customers say, but what they mean. After doing an extensive evaluation of our pay in comparison to other employers in our business, we find that our compensation is consistent with the industry. Please note we regularly review industry compensation. If you would like to discuss further, please email interpretercommunications@languageline.com.

Pros

This was my first ever “professional” role out of college. I started out first as a contractor and later became a perm worker. Right away I was met with helpful and welcoming staff, they supported me in training, questions I had, and would accommodate me in the ways I needed while I worked in office (ex: giving me a standing desk). My manager and team were great and provided me with a lot of autonomy in my role.

Cons

My work was rather repetitive, and after doing nearly the same thing for a few years I got tired of my role. There weren’t a lot of opportunities for role shifts or changes and tasks even though I was a reliable and effective team member and was well-received by my colleagues.

Pros

Nothing . They'll exploit you. They treat interpreters like disposable items.

Cons

This company will not survive much longer. They have been unable to transform the service they offer into a pleasant yet still helpful experience for millions of people with a language barrier. Their greed and lack of creativity have resulted in a paranoid organization, obsessed with extreme perfectionism and exaggerated employee performance surveillance, in a desperate intent to position themselves as the no. 1 leader in interpreter translation services worldwide. What they call "monitoring for quality standards", is actually a system of abusive workforce practices, with secret and random surveillance call interventions, whose main objective is to belittle interpreters, pointing out false incorrections and unexisting mistakes of incredible absurdity, like for examole, "you interpreted dark, when it should be obscure, ..." with who knows which twisted purposes.

Our interpreters meet the industry’s highest standards, earning the privilege to interpret for our clients and the communities they serve. LLS uses a strict standard of call handling protocol that has been refined over the past 41 years and has been validated by numerous outside agencies, including “Great Place to Work.” The Great Place to Work” distinction is earned directly from our employees and the feedback shared.
