Low Pay, High Demand

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

WFH, you're able to choose your own schedule

Cons

This job requires you to be fully and proficiently bilingual and it does not pay like a bilingual job at all. 15 dollars an hour to be fully bilingual and have knowledge of so many industries feels like taking advantage of a job market that is already not offering enough. Interpreting is a serious job and it is very sad that a company that provides interpretation services decides to pay so little to their interpreter. Also ZERO benefits at all. Hourly pay rate should start at least at $20 for it to make sense. Who can live of off 15 dolars an hour? This company does not pay you for being bilingual at all. They pay even less than the average monolingual customer service agent. Also you have back to back calls all day long.

We are always striving to be better for the employees who are LanguageLine’s core. After doing an extensive evaluation of our pay and benefits in comparison to other employers in our business, we find that our compensation and benefits, while not above average, are consistent with the industry. Please note we regularly review industry compensation. If you would like to discuss further, please email interpretercommunications@languageline.com.

Pros

Nothing, horrendous conditions, low salary.

Cons

You slave away, you get blocked and dismissed over one complaint however unjustified and/or untrue it is.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. As a self-employed Contractor and not an employee, you had the freedom & flexibility to log in when you were available and log out when you were not. It does not sound like it was a good fit for you and we wish you well in your future endeavors.
