Pros

Employees are friendly and helpful Mentors are an invaluable asset Work is appropriately challenging Transparent management & decision-making Good staffing (teams are well-supported and not stretched too thin, no overtime)

Cons

Compensation package is poor (below average pay, 401k matching, healthcare, etc) Technical debt (lack of documentation and testing) Brain Drain (many extremely talented engineers have left or are leaving) Slow career advancement Slow performance reviews

Thanks for reaching out. We review employee compensation on a regular basis to make sure we are competitive compared to market rates in the Cincinnati area and we make market adjustments on a regular basis. Our turnover rate is also significantly lower than industry average for tech companies like ours. In fact, what we find is that many of the people who do end up leaving LCS come back after experiencing other work environments. We rehired 18 former employees just this year!

Technical staff are underpaid Lack of Vision Lack of willingness to fix fundamental issues Lack of courage to make necessary changes Resistance to new technologies You won’t get a work laptop You won’t get the necessities for development You won’t be appreciated for what you do You won’t get a clear UI mock for your projects Teams keep making breaking changes for other teams Late and unfair reviews No long-term and badly planned short-term projects Unreliable systems Almost no opportunity to grow

Thank you for your review. We strive to make sure that every employee feels valued and supported each day. Performance reviews are completed on an annual basis. While in the past reviews may have been delayed we recently updated our performance management process to ensure employees receive feedback in a timely fashion. We invest in our employees and the tools they use every day. In fact, we even have a professional development department that works with employees to help them identify career paths within the organization and supports them throughout their professional development.

Pros

Most of the people I worked with were amazing individuals. Caring, smart, just amazing humans all together.

Cons

-The company/mgmt. ignored the Americans with Disabilities Act when it came to reasonable accommodations. -Mgmt. has no idea how to handle a situation involving disabilities. Mgmt “tried to be understanding”, by asking when I’d make a full recovery from PTSD, this is not acceptable and is grossly ignorant. -Tried to force me back into a role I was no longer capable of doing (due to my disabilities) bc I wasn’t giving them “high enough output” in my current role. -Fatphobic diet culture is pushed in nearly every aspect, but yet the company/insurance doesn’t offer any options to help with long term healthy lifestyle changes. (E.g. Gym memberships, healthy eating coaches, cooking classes, mental health help. Medical weight loss options aren’t covered by insurance bc HR said it’s “high liability”. But not too high liability to make employees feel fat shamed at every turn.) -My Lvl 2 overstepped in many ways. Got way too personal, wanted to “be my friend” outside of work (social media platforms), did things on “my behalf” I didn’t ask for, went entirely overboard with policing my use of “please” and “thank you”. I’d never felt uncomfortable with a female coworker until this person.

LCS supports the inclusion and success of all it's employees and works with individuals as appropriate to make reasonable accommodations to their job duties that allows them to thrive in our work environment. However, as with any business, employees must still be able to perform the essential functions of their job with or without accommodation. LCS also supports the physical and mental health of all of our employees through our employee wellness program which offers resources for physical, mental, and financial wellness. We also offer access to an Employee Assistance Program and an onsite fitness center. Participation in all of these programs is voluntary and available free of charge to all employees.
