A decent place to work and gain knowledge but other that there really isn't much.

Cons

- Salary is not competitive. - You must work 8-5 and you will get written up if you come in after 8. - You will be written up if you go on internet. At one point even google was blocked. - High turnover

Pros

If like to travel, this is the best place to be. Micros is a well-known company throughout the hotel/restaurant industry. There is no other product out there that can perform as well as their Opera and Micros 9000 series products.

Cons

Travel can be draining especially when you do not go home while you are onsite with a customer (projects vary from 1 - 5 weeks). During the interview, they will mention that you will travel 98% of the time and they are not kidding. Many employees will be burnt out after the first year and will not last more than 18 months as an Implementation Specialist.

Good place to start a sales career but limited opportunity for advancement for senior-level reps

Pros

Hands off management approach for outside sales reps, which means if you are hitting your numbers they will pretty much leave you alone. Management, both locally and in the corporate office, are very sales-focused and help you win deals at any cost.

Cons

There is not much room for growth beyond the senior sales level. Quotas can often be unreasonable making any opportunity to make real money impossible. Compensation rarely changes and there is little, if any, employee evaluation process. The implementation process is very unreliable often resulting in dissatisfied customers and an constant "clean-up" process.
