Pros

There is very little Pro's about this company: * It did pay for me to get a qualification (even though it's only recognized in Australia and not NZ) *Due to complete lack of systems, everything is run through Excel which meant I got plenty of good experience with spreadsheets

Cons

Where to begin........ * Acute Staffing shortages in the 4 years I worked for them that they thought they could fix with 3 month fixed term contracts (Completely forgetting that we have to train them only for them to leave) * Terrible management at all levels, they seem to only hire incompetent managers who come in, want to put their stamp on things and then leave the practice in a worse state than it was when they came because they never bothered to listen to the staff and it all turns to custard. * Pay increases and bonuses are non-existent in the lower levels * Don't recognize hard working staff or reward them. They only seem to reward higher management who do none of the work. * No training plans in place at all for new staff or for career progression. Their greater good training is a joke. * Non existent HR - Seriously....no one can ever get ahold of them, let alone get a resolution to any grievances. * Expect to work 12 hour days just to try and keep on top of work. Low moral. * Senior management, HR management and CEO are all in bed together so you can't escalate any issues with senior people. * Finance department is awful. Regularly misplaced money against the wrong policies. Literally had to email them every single time a payment came in to make sure it got put in the right place. Spent hours doing their job and sorting out mistakes. Product of cost cutting. * Treat you as a number. Your dispensable no matter how much knowledge you bring to the company. Seem to make people redundant who have the knowledge and skills and keep the idiots who do no work. This company is all about cost cutting to the extreme, absolutely no vision or direction except "we've got to get more money than last year". If they don't meet new business targets, staff are cut to make up the costs.

Pros

Collaborative, client focused, "journey to elite" organization. Willing to be accountable and engaged with results -- trying to build a consistent training and professional development pathways for employees.

Cons

Complex organization with frequent leadership changes that may undermine organizational efficiency and client servicing. Overly focused on analytics without regard to best fit for client and/or value of analytics relative to meeting client's objectives.

Pros

Large company with great talent. Hard working and also nice to each other. Lots of resources for insurance/business side of things.

Cons

IT is behind due to being very careful. Some managers tend to micro-manage. IT training is lacking. Pay is okay but great benefits.

Pros

Marsh has treated me well - they let me work on what I want and provide every possible benefit. The culture is OK as well - it is virtually unheard of for anyone to raise their voice or be rude to anyone. You get every benefit known to mankind, and late night/weekend work is rare these days

Cons

Frequent layoffs, endless pay freezes, senior management gets large bonuses but other employees get nothing unless you know someone. The company wastes money on endless fashionable management initiatives and rebranding but will not spend a penny on infrastructure applications. The bureaucracy can make you crazy. Women and minorities do not get promoted. There is absolutely no training and virtually no career path.

Pros

It is a global company, gives many opportunities for professional development, the pay is good, provides training and know-how.

Cons

Not very well organised, too bureaucratic. Focused on short term profit results rather than sustainable development. Currently it has only a vague idea of a long term strategy.

Pros

Great training program in place, collaborative environment with a focus on mentoring talent to become the next generation of leaders.

Cons

It's a large company, so at times decisions are out of your immediate manager's hands.
