Pros

Lots of talent and strong brand credibility

Cons

Horrible benefits- misrepresented at time of hire. NO 401K MATCH FIRST YEAR!!! 4 YEAR VESTING PERIOD AFTER THAT. 5% ESPP EXTREMELY LOW! VERY HIGH TURNOVER, BE PREPARED TO DO YOUR JOB AND THE REST OF YOUR TEAMS' THAT LEAVES. Work here for a year- have a big brand name on your resume then cash it in at another brokerage with better work life balance, financial incentives, etc. Minimal training so be prepared to run with what you got, no employee development- all time is dedicated to putting out fires.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your candid feedback and we’re sorry to hear about your experience with Marsh. We’re a people business and retaining the best colleagues is essential to what we do. We believe that our people do their best work in an environment where they feel valued and we strive to create a total rewards package that reflects this. The benefits plan comes in many forms, including ways to take care of your health, grow in your career and build financial security. There is no limit on how far our colleagues can go but we know that the journey of creating a workplace where all of the tools and resources available for development & growth are readily accessible is not always a perfect one. If you feel comfortable, we encourage you to continue this conversation with your HRBP as your feedback could help shape our processes moving forward.

Pros

-Leadership has been excellent during the pandemic. They did not cut our salaries and I am not aware of any layoffs. -Flexible work schedule (telecommuting). More time yourself and family is a win-win. -Solid Fringe Benefits. -Autonomy (No micromanagement) -Generous Tuition Assistance. -Company pays for professional development/designations. -Plenty of internal opportunities.

Cons

-Long-term compensation. Negotiate well before accepting an offer. -Too many legacy systems and archaic processes. -Company lacks a consistent training and onboarding process for new hires. -Certain departments are not adequately staffed. -Depending on which department you work for, mid-career employees might feel like underappreciated assets.
