Leadership, there isn't any, the CIO puts his nose in every meeting just so he can belittle the team and talk about himself. We worked 2 years on projects (nothing has been released) without a roadmap, product managers, project managers... No plans, just copy the competition! We have redesigned everything at least 4 times, then it goes to China, where the CIO has his own design team and they change your designs! Or worse, the designs are done in China, and we have to go back over them and fix them! Our director stood up to the CIO, he tried to fight for us, he tried to create a UX growth path, then the CIO took the team away from him! So here at Michaels, you have no UX growth path, no way to get promoted. The team was 42 people last year, there are 8 left! It is toxic to designers, the CIO tells you what to design! He also said that UX's only growth is to become a PM.
