Where to start.
* So, I was hired for the CEM (Customer experience manager) position to replace the current CEM when she left the company for good in 6 months (she was not returning). To get my foot in the door the store manager offered me the RM (replenishment manager) job, so I could start asap and learn the ropes of the store, then transfer to that position in 6 months.
* The RM position as told to me by anyone I asked (DM and up) is the hardest position in the store. The RM is responsible for the replenishment staff, all planograms, all stocking and display, price changes ,etc etc etc. I worked for an A volume store (the highest volume), yet my payroll was generally cut and I had less than the C volume store down the road... I should have took cues from the 2 previous RM's when they both only lasted 4 months and 6 months.
* When the asst. manager did my paperwork she put in my pay at 50 cents LESS than the offer. After my 1st check I caught this and it took the company 3 months... no lie 3 months to fix the pay issue. It then took them another month to back pay me for the 50 cents/hour. When I was able to get benefits I signed up right away. The company mistype and took out double for insurance then they were suppose too (should have been $100/check they took out $250) this happened twice, then took another month to get back paid that.... smh
* The store is chaos. Michael's is turning into a flea market selling anything and everything you can imagine. We starting selling ground coffee and eye masks and other just random "walmart" level stuff. Our truck came weekly at 3am... so me and my staff of 15 came in at 3 am and had to unload and organize the truck, then stock. The store and assistant manager were always very rude when things didn't get done to their liking. We would mostly get an entire semi worth of boxes and they expected it to be stocked before we opened... (it's impossible). My team worked their butts off daily and would get yelled at by the store and assistant managers.
* The planogram dept in corporate is broken and we would waste SO much time on redoing pogs that they messed up. If we had 100 hours of pogs for the week corporate would give us 90 hours to do them... make sense? umm no.
*The asst. manager at my store was the rudest person I've have ever worked with. She would go off the deep end on anyone , just because.
* When the CEM left I went to the now new store manager and he said that he wanted me to stay in my current position and that's it, even though the DM approved the title change. Went to the DM and she refused to let me move positions even though all my past experience is in customer service. After working there for a little over 6 months I decided they could go shove it... The pay sucked for the volume and amount of work I did.
The store manager made it a mission to harass me and my staff. Right after I left 5 of my staff members walked out as well.
