Pros
After one week, I can say with confidence that NAVEX Global is not fairly represented by some of the reviews I read prior to my start date. Although my interviews had been with genuine, authentic members of management, I still harbored some anxiety after reading negative reviews especially as it related to training. I'd like to set the story straight.
Office Space:
NAVEX Global's HQ is stunning aesthetically. It's a beautiful blend of modern decor with warm wooden accents. Not that aesthetics should be that important but it is amazing how different you feel when a space is accommodating. Every desk is electric and offers the ability to sit or stand. I believe all employees are given dual monitors for productivity as well.
Onboarding:
When you start a new job at most organizations, you can pretty much write off your first couple of weeks while you wait on the company to get you setup because nobody prepared in advance. Since the moment, I verbally accepted my offer, NAVEX Global has delivered on every promise. Prior to training, all trainees were connected via email to set expectations, provide contact info, and ensure we had what was needed. When I arrived in Portland for training, my hotel room located across the street from HQ was already registered in my name. On Day 1, I stepped off the elevator to be greeted with paperwork to get my badge and was pointed towards the training room where breakfast snacks were waiting. Our laptops were situated in the training room next to name placards for each trainee containing our title and location.
Sales Training:
I've been in Sales for 20+ years and have attended many different types of sales training. This is the best training and onboarding that I've experienced. Andrea and Cait are both gifted individually and when combined encompass all areas of a successful, modern-day salesperson. They've provided a perfect blend of product training, pragmatic best practices, sales strategy, effective use of technology, deep-dives into key areas all the while using different approaches to keep things relevant and entertaining.
Respect:
The first week of a new job tells you a lot about what you can expect from the company and what they expect from you. Without saying a word, NAVEX Global has made it clear that they RESPECT their employees and they expect the same in return. While the people are nice and easy-going, there is no question that people are there to work.
Meetings start on time…to the minute. Cell phones don’t ring. Presenters aren’t late. Training never seems like an after-thought. Content is relevant. Regardless of title or status, I have not seen anyone treated any differently. The expectation of personal accountability is so potent you can almost see it in the atmosphere. Professional epitomized. You always have a sense that people are acting with purpose and are prepared to ensure that purpose is realized.
Respect is the sum of all of these little parts above.
