Could Never Recommend Working Here

Pros

Met a few nice people here, but overall the atmosphere was too cutthroat for me.

Cons

Awful training program with an individual who was demeaning and did not have the sales chops to be teaching. They allegedly have "territories", but your work is not really protected. Unless you are on the National Team. Then anything you sell that is deemed to be in their territory is given to those individuals, you don't commission or even credit for closing.

Thank you for your comments. The training we have implemented has proven to yield successful results from our previous, current, and newly hired employees. While training is the company's responsibility, it is the responsibility of the employee to fully embrace the training. Training that is fully embraced by the company and the employee yield the highest success rates.

Pros

If you are looking to date or receive experience from very young mangers to learn to sale advertising space on the phone.

Cons

The company is truly like a call center, you must meet goals set each month and every months starts over. You must lead search and make 60 calls a day. Very micro managed and they listen to your calls. Tons of family and friends working together does not always make the best working environment. I'm not young and came with tons of experience and so many good reps leave because you cannot make the money they discuss upfront with you!!

Falling Apart

Pros

Good people and it was interesting to learn about the the roles that associations play in any particular industry.

Cons

Work is incredibly repetitive (even for a sales gig) and you're not given much of an opportunity as a new rep. There is also no question that middle management has its favorites. If you don't get off to a good start, they will start giving you junk territory/projects that makes it nearly impossible to climb out of the hole. Company ran into big money troubles over the Summer of 2016 and laid off over 40 people out of the blue. The CFO was making huge mistakes with accounts payable for months and it led to a lot of association not receiving their payments. The company appeared to try and hide this for awhile too. They went through a huge sales rep hiring spree and fired the CFO halfway through it after finding out about the mess, but instead of doing a hiring freeze they kept adding on sales reps despite knowing about the money issues. Most of the reps remaining under two years are looking for other opportunities b/c senior management is incompetent, uncaring and will lie straight to your face.
