Pros

Many really smart people, great office, convenient location, innovative product. CEO seems like a great guy and gets high ratings on Glassdoor. Seems super smart and is charismatic.

Cons

Attrition throughout the ranks. People talk trash about other departments, seems to be a general lack of trust and respect. So much gossip and drama, maybe people don't have enough work to do? Some departments are just grossly disorganized and have a general lack process so it's just a free for all. Not all execs are nearly the same quality as the CEO, some aren't even close.

Pros

I've met some great people at New Relic. The culture of collaboration, at least within my team, is top notch. I feel like it's an environment where learning is largely encouraged and you can stretch yourself to do more than the confines of a role would typically require.

Cons

It gives me no pleasure to write this review, but the last year + has been very challenging at New Relic. - We're experiencing significant turnover in our engineering team, huge customer churn, and the product vision—while ambitious—has consistently not delivered in the expected time and been repeatedly pushed out. - One of New Relic's challenges over the years has been change management, namely the ability to accurately express why we are making the decisions we have. Customers repeatedly express their concerns around change fatigue, particularly around pricing and packaging. - Several (4?) layoffs over the past two and a half years have dampened morale, and cost-cutting measures instituted by PE have led to offshoring of key roles and rendered offices virtually empty outside of a handful of executives. - The lack of operational maturity in our processes and archaic accounting practices are holding us back from meeting our customers halfway on contracting flexibility, and preventing us from effectively displacing competitors. None of the above obstacles are insurmountable on their own, but taken together they make for a very auspicious future ahead.

Pros

Breadth of product capabilities compared to competitors. Legacy of solid product development.

Cons

Have lost their top talent and now firings are regular announcements. Their top Chief Sales Office and Chief Customer Adoption (SE top guy) just put out...about a year or two too late. The technical teams are not proactive, sit by the phone and wait until deals are large enough to engage with reps so that they can get their names on slides as a contributor. Zero proactive. The current sales leader that is leaving is the 3rd in 3 years and all three have 'gimmick' guys. This one came in putting all chips on a 'proposal factory' that introduced discounts in the first conversations. The culture is woke and a massive echo chamber. It celebrates mediocrity from the remaining team members who have remained as truly talented producers have left. Performance is measured by your ability to applaud poor performance and processes that are failing. The platform has become unstable since moving into AWS and their new CFO is now pursuing overages from strategic customers despite the fact that New Relic has never reliably provided customer consumption data to their customer. The general feeling among most inside is that the board is prepping the company for acquisition.
