Frequent Layoffs.

Pros

Nice managers and co-workers are helpful

Cons

Low pay. Typical LIES ! Major layoffs in the past 8 months from Austin,Texas office to Horsham,, PA office to the Irvine, Ca office. No notice of layoffs, you walk in the office and then you are let go. They quietly layoff executives and you find out in a webinars. They pretend it won't happen again and then a few months later, another set of layoffs, ask the Austin, TX group ! ! This company is preparing to go up for sale !

Pros

Co-Workers! Remote Work! Some of the best people I know, I met and grew by working alongside them at NextGen. Family atmosphere with peers you work with everyday.

Cons

CEO - BAD CTO - Worse Enter CEO "Sides" and well let's just say the septic tank was opened, then. His sole purpose since day one was to get NG "SOLD" to someone. Well TB was the lucky buyer and with them came 20% Reduction in Workforce. Funny - after all those years of service the CTO (Kilby) let 110 people go in a 7 minute meeting!!! Nothing says "we care" like being let go in a 7 minute meeting, by a cowardly CTO that couldn't "technical" his way out of a paper sack! Sad to see such a good company, you have worked so hard for flush you like 2-ply Charmin!

A sinking ship

Pros

Remote work is a huge incentive. In my experience, middle leadership has been supportive and does try to make the best of the difficult situations they are given. Lots of opportunities to learn marketable skills.

Cons

Laying people off during the holidays is cruel. The c suite prioritized their wallets over our staff and our clients alike. We lost a ton of institutional knowledge with this recent 20% reduction in staff, and our clients will absolutely suffer as a result. There is no contingency plan and seemed like there was little rhyme or reason to who was let go.
