Pros

Being able to work with the clients and help them.

Cons

Administration, Directors and Management have NO CLUE. Hard to believe that they run a Behavioral Health Unit and specialize in Mental Health when THEY drive many of their counselors and service staff to seek treatment themselves. TERRIBLE PLACE TO WORK!!!! They will mandate you over and if you are not able to you will get fired. It is common to work 14-16 hour days.

Thank you for your feedback. Our team in BHS has some challenging work ahead of them, working with our most demanding and complex individuals in mental and behavioral health. While this work is not suited for every professional, we look for placement and fit of the right people for the team.

Pros

NCHC cares about employees and people who leave negative reviews are usually weeded out from the company because they are not performing to standards. Its sad to see negative reviews on this site because usually the people that are the sour grapes are the ones leaving them, not the hundreds of happy employees. People are genuine and caring and its a positive work environment. People get along and that is rare in busy, stressful health care companies.

Cons

It is work and you are expected to pull your weight. If you don't, they don't put up with slackers. So prepare to be pushed.

Pros

Most of your coworkers are friendly, helpful. And caring. compensation competitive. At first look benefits are appealing, including health dental vision flex spending and state of Wisconsin retirement system.

Cons

There is a severe divide between administration and workers. Exempt employees can expect to work long hours and have little or no input into policies that affect their position, the quality of their work, and especially their clients. If you were to walk through the halls of outpatient services during work hours, you would see very few clinicians smiling or with open doors. This is due to a feeling of opression and overwork. Conversely the outpatient services management team appears to have not enough to do, other than identifying employees weaknesses, attending meetings and creating unnecessary, time wasting meetings for staff. The electronic Healthcare documentation software they chose and implemented a year ago is excessively burdensome to clinicians. Management tells employees it is okay that they are struggling because it's a new system and not to be too hard on themselves. However the expectation of productivity and accurate documentation has not been adjusted accordingly. Therefore the clinicians are required to work many more hours. When mistakes are made management becomes impatient and sends demeaning memos.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about working in Outpatient Services. Outpatient Services has gone a number of changes over the last few years and will continue to change in the near term with recent leadership changes. There have been many positive change efforts over the past few years and many positive opportunities are ahead in 2016. Our creed is Person-Centered, Outcome Focused and we will evaluate our future decisions on providing the very best care for our clients. Admittedly, we have at times, made bad decisions or ineffective plans to address problems. Most change efforts statistically fail but having the courage to act is important for the success of this organization long-term. Our electronic medical record conversion was more demanding than any of us believed it would be and at times have wanted to admit. That conversion and all that came with it placed a huge demand on our staff that clearly is embedded in your review. Our efforts to improve engagement and satisfaction are still within our grasp to continue to improve. We will learn from those situations and continuously renew our commitment to our employees in fulfilling our mission. Higher respect and dignity is something we can commit to as we move forward together. The door is open to you if you would like to continue to be part of our journey to excellence.
