Pros
Notion is a company that cares about their people, product, and pets! Ever since I've joined, there are a few things I am sure of: our teams are made up of wonderful people who are empathetic, hardworking, and passionate; the work I do creates an immediate, direct impact that is easily visible; there are a vast amount of opportunities for ownership; Notion cares about my well-being in way I didn't think about myself! The amount of information and knowledge I consume on a daily basis is empowering and the people I learn it from are so willing to help me become a better software engineer. And for the culture, it's easy to say that Notion cares. Refreshing and recharging is important to good work, and I feel their benefits reflect this mindset.
Cons
Since Notion is growing quickly, change is constant. However, it's great to see and know that the issues that arise are being proactively addressed and communicated to the team. As of December 2021, Notion’s eventual plan for returning to office post-COVID includes a mandatory number of days in office each week with no provisions for permanent remote work. Given that many other tech companies are moving to a more remote-friendly policy, I’d like to see Notion be more flexible here as well.
