Pros

Can't think of any pros at OT whatsoever

Cons

The Company - buys post- mature companies with archaic technology with large installed bases. Maintenance increases 10% per year, customers are stuck with hard to rip products. The job - only a handful of sales people with key accounts make money. Roughly 90% of the sales force doesn't come close to making money. Less than a third of the company had sold more than $100k. Management - micro-management, high stress, outrageously long account reviews with zero purpose or action. Products - thousands of old, outdated technology. Little to no technical support, most SEs from the originating companies left or were pushed out. Only a few good SEs who are in ridiculously high demand and cannot provide adequate support. Customers - frustrated with Open Text, the best sales cycles where when customers paid handsomely to get off the OT products. Vision - Barrenecheas vision of EIM is absurd, it is basically trying to explain chaos and haphazard acquisitions. Does not resonate with customers at all. Other factors - turnover is absurd, benefits are mediocre, pay is low, commissions virtually non-existent. Work/life balance is not there at ALL...we were instructed to take vacation, without really taking vacation. If you have too much vacation accrued, which we all did because the pressure was absurd, we were forced to log days off in the vacation tool, but we worked through it.

Pros

*There were some employees that were really wonderful people. *The attrition is so high so you can advance really quickly for roles you aren’t qualified for. *Work from home for some (just say you aren’t vaccinated)

Cons

-By far, this is the worst company I have ever worked for in my life and I don’t know where to start. I believe any good reviews on here are fake because I did not meet one person that liked their job at this place. -Expectations are high and there are no tools to succeed. People keep quitting so their job duties spread over into your already overwhelmed plate. -I used to cry every Sunday and sometimes other days for the fact that I would have to work in this miserable place. -This company acquires a bunch of companies with no plan to integrate them in successfully, no plan for cross selling, no one knows what is going on, so it’s extremely frustrating to get anything done. -If you’re a small company, do not parter with them. -One of my last weeks there, someone on my team had a nervous breakdown and another had an alcohol problem and would frequently drink on the job. That’s how toxic this place is. -I went through 3 managers in 3 months. I have never seen such high turnover anywhere in my life. *There were quite a few really great people that were also frustrated with the absolute chaotic, bureaucratic nightmare workplace. -Upper leadership is extremely toxic and either doesn’t lead, or they puff their chests out and have such an outdated “top-down” approach to leadership that doesn’t work anymore and don’t even know what’s going on right under their noses. -I don’t recommend this place to anyone. I have a friend still working there and she cries every day.

Pros

Great co-workers and immediate manager

Cons

I was part of an amazing company which got acquired by OpenText after the acquisition things started to get bad. (I am specifically referring to the Customer Support Organization of this company). Large layoffs of highly skilled long tenured loyal technical employees with zero notice and no opportunity to move internally. Below industry standards for pay, poor 401K match, no stock options, long hours, limited PTO, Poor work/life balance. If you are part of an acquisition you are better off looking elsewhere before you are let go.
