you obtain some experience in one skill or two...but that is about it

Cons

taking time off is a hassle, the equipment was old and always falling apart.....very old LIMS system...pay is very low for wanting people with degrees...did not go to college to work a low paying job, honestly you do not need a degree to work here

Pros

The value proposition is solid and, at least for the time being, the "RIS" in POLARIS appears to be keeping the company in a leading position.

Cons

High turnover is directly proportional to complaints, which are chiefly related to cycle time. Errors due to inexperience delay results and a lack of familiarity with equipment and procedures result in damaged equipment and high internal reject rates. Talent, at all levels, is hard to attract, develop and retain due first to culture and secondly to compensation.

Pros

Good coworkers. Potentially can learn a lot about lab instruments, multitasking, and just plain hard work. No rotatin schedules. Sunday's off is great. Time flys by like meteors.

Cons

The shift. Most new hires go on night shift? If you are good and fast with your hands, the world of Polaris will make you a star, a rock star. If not, you won't get very far, and they won't worry about putting much training into you, competitive, like most, but not all production labs. Quality is Very important, but speed will trump quality here. Every time. Management does not like advice. I give advice, that is who I am. I have a gift for it.
