      PROS is a good stepping stone...not good for a long term career.

      Pros

      The pricing industry is wide open with opportunity. PROS is the largest pricing software company out there and a relatively easy place to start your career in this upcoming industry. If you are considering a move to PROS, negotiate hard on the salary.

      Cons

      Pay is not as competitive as other companies in the same space. Career development and matching jobs to skills is not a priority. After one employee was let go, employees were told that there is a lot of available talent on the market and that the company is taking the opportunity to "upgrade" the workforce. Even though the founder of the company still comes in every week, the company lacks a "soul" or any type of heritage that employees can rally around. The previous review about the CEO berating people is spot on.

      Pros

      This technology and industry is growing. Pricing is something companies are actively seeking, especially in a downturn economy. Science team is brilliant. People/Environment are nice. Very diverse environment, cultures are welcome with no prejudice. Midtown/Downtown Houston is a great place to work.

      Cons

      There is no growth structure identified, no bonus/raise structure identified. No share ownership plan. Competitors seem to pay more. Training is pretty bad, there seems to be the wrong people facilitating the training.Poor processes that never get followed. Alot of politics. Titles and positions do not mean anything. Alot of competitive bashing going on. Very high turnover rate.
