Pros

Office environment That's it That's it That's it There's air conditioning

Cons

Non-competitive pay compared to industry. Barely above minimum. 2% annual raise Recently cut back on staff As a Manager you are HR as well. HR should be called Event Planners. You carry out and calculate all bonus, hiring, firing, corrective actions, walking terminated employees to their car, etc. CEO is more interested in parking spaces having titles declared than employee satisfaction Business attire required although most people do punch and click level work Must have a degree for anything Management Rumors and gossip throughout Mostly one ethnicity (take a guess) Very limited growth potential Not something that translates well to other jobs VERY disorganized processes and policies Treated like cattle

Worst Job I Have Ever Had

Pros

The only pro is that I have an easy commute.

Cons

To start, the PTO policy is much lower than average- 14 days of PTO per year including both sick days and vacation. Most companies provide at least 4 weeks for their employees. Also, the pay is extremely low; as a college graduate with a 4-year Bachelor's degree I am ashamed of the low hourly wage that I receive, and I cannot support myself on these wages. I am not sure how people with families manage here. Additionally, there is little room for advancement. I took a pay cut to accept a job here because I was lead to believe that there would be upward mobility, especially because this job does not require a degree at all. However, promotions are not made due to credentials; it is more of a popularity contest, and it is nearly impossible to transfer to the HCA corporate office. In a recent interview with another company, my interviewer referred to Parallon as the "black sheep" of HCA, saying that HCA does not want to acknowledge its ownership of Parallon. Obviously, I am currently searching for a new position with a company that actually values its employees and compensates them fairly. There is a lot of talking behind people's backs among employees, just like high school. I would NOT recommend applying here to anyone. It has been the worst job I have ever had. Finally, the atmosphere is extremely unprofessional; 90% of the workforce here is morbidly obese and sloppily dressed. Despite this, management rewards employees with pizza, ice cream, and candy instead of raises. I am embarrassed to work for this company.

Pros

You can probably work from home

Cons

Parallon is an EMBARRASSMENT and I work here! I can't get out of this place fast enough. Worst senior management I have experienced in my VAST career. I do not trust one word that trickles down. They are outsourcing everything and automating what they can't causing hard working AMERICANS to lose their jobs so HCA can give out those multi million bonuses to Sam Hazen and Shannon what's her face. They lie to the faces of the people who actually do the work trying to assure that should they become "displaced" they would do everything they can to find them new jobs. Um, you just outsourced all the jobs. The MIT program is a JOKE. There are no manager jobs available! Maybe because you've sent all the jobs over seas so there's no one left to manage? Sounds smart for our PHI to be zooming all over the world just to end up where it started. So, in 2 years when they're frantically trying to staff departments when they inevitably bring the work back since the vendors screw everything up, please keep this review in mind and KEEP SCROLLING. There is zero training. It's a sink or swim company who refuses to toss anyone a floatation device.
