      Don’t buy into the Sales hype!

      Solid product and implementation...for now.

      Despite having a solid product, the organization as a whole has a long way to go. The culture looks unbelievable on videos and employee interviews, but it’s not all that it’s cracked up to be. The President needs to stop trying to control everything and trust the executive team he hired to help in their growing process. In other words, step back. It’s definitely a “good-ol-boy” type system here from the top down and if you bring feedback to the table that they don’t like, you will be ridiculed. Mostly from the middle management roles. There’s just so many unqualified directors I’ve met. Again, they invested in the system for over a decade and built (AND acquired- they’ll preach otherwise) something great, but doubling up on Sales presence without balancing it with Service presence is proving to be a challenge. Like anything, change takes time. But I’m not gonna stay and fall victim during the hard times. We’re not compensated enough with the amount of people they’ve hired.

      Hi, and thank you for your candor. I agree that our product, service, and implementation is first class within our industry, and I am proud of our teams in the space. I have been with Paylocity for over 12 years, and can attest to the hard work and determination it has taken to get here, and I am very pleased with the results the sales organization continues to provide. More specifically, I personally hired and promoted our current VP of Sales, Josh Scutt, and am extremely confident in his ability to lead this organization through this next chapter. I am dissapointed you don’t feel feedback is welcomed at Paylocity, as this is something I personally have committed to over the years. I welcome conversations with any and all employees who want to share with expectation that I will listen and do whatever I can to help make Paylocity a great place to work for everyone. Leader development is vital to our growth and success, and will be a top focus for us in the coming year.       Pretty from the outside

      Pros

      In the past, good earning potential. Now just the fact that you’ll work from a home office.

      Cons

      Territories keep getting cut while quota and expectations keep increasing. All that I and most good sales people could live with, however the massive amounts of micro managing, recording calls during telemarketing sessions, repetitive rapports and spreadsheets not so much. Don’t let them fool you with with trickery talking about “our top reps last year made a million bucks” although it is true, it is virtually impossible as a newcomer because of the way holdouts and territories work.

      Overworked and understaffed

      I guess the pay is decent

      Cons

      You are overworked and assigned so many accounts that you are unable to keep up with the level of attention and detail needed to meet your goals. Very stressful job and managers who are clueless on how to actually manage a team!
