Nepotism is rampant

Pros

Most of the people you work alongside are great! The pay and benefits are decent. The location of the office is central to most anyone living in the Knoxville area.

Cons

Nepotism is rampant in the home office, despite it being against Pilot's policy. It seems that almost every new employee is either a relative or friend of someone in a high position. Those people become protected, regardless of ability to do the job, work ethic or output and are often promoted at an unfair rate simply based on their relationship with upper management. The other (non-related) hard-working folks with proven results are not valued and often left to rot in their positions.

Pros

Got a weekly paycheck Hope you like being around a ton of brown nosers

Cons

Where do I start: -Commission structure stinks. -They’ll tell you you’re going to get a salary 65K for example, but really, you’re making a 35K base and the rest of it is based off you hitting quota. So why couldn’t they just say 35K base with on target earnings of 65K?! -Paid hourly so you’re literally staring at the clock ready to get the heck out of there! -Quota compounds month over month, so if a customer closes shop or decides they don’t want Pilot anymore, you’re held responsible for those gallons they brought in the previous month and SOL trying to replace those gallons in the middle of the month! -Management needs more training; it can’t always be about hitting numbers. Guide and nurture your reps to become better at their job. Get them to actually like you? Maybe? -You don’t get paid vacation until you’re there for ONE YEAR! -Place is more like a call center rather than a sales office -Cheapest billion dollar company I’ve ever worked for; invest in your reps and maybe you won’t be losing them.
