A change of heart

Pros

* Good tech stack. * Good interviewing and onboarding process.

Cons

Sadly, I had to change my opinion about the company lately. * Company grows at ridiculous pace, and offices are overcrowded. Minor opinions are never taken into consideration now. And amount of corporate BS grows each day. * People, who don't fit with their temper into a positive lazy atmosphere of the company are treated poorly. Loud chit chats in the middle of an openspace has higher priority than actual work * Career progress depends only on a good relationships with higher ranks. If you can't force yourself to smile whenever your boss makes a joke, prepare to be a scapegoat. * Cargo cult at it's worst: forcing everyone to make cold calls during workshops, since big companies do similar.

Rapid growth and scaling are considered a good problem but we acknowledge that it can also bring about some new issues. To stay grounded is a challenge and we try to find our own way to deal with added sophistication. The reality is of course that as we grow we gain complexity - we need more roles, more hierarchy, more process. It is most likely unavoidable. We are sorry to have missed some of the issues that are more easily solvable, such as loud chit chats in open spaces. We are also working on fixing the issue of overcrowded offices - our Tallinn and Lisbon offices will soon move to larger spaces. It is more difficult to agree with the author’s take on the so called positive lazy atmosphere as we hire based on character and we are very specific about the fit - we look for people whose motivation comes from a deep emotional connection to their work and who are not afraid to break their own limits. And it is fair to say that reaching for greatness is expected of our people. We also try to keep our communications as flat as possible and to cultivate the culture where every opinion is heard. This has been something our employees refer to at employee NPS surveys. Here’s an example: “I’d recommend Pipedrive to people looking for a place where ideas flow regardless of the vertical position of their role, and where change, talent and passion are a constant.” People are our most important asset. We wish the author would consider turning to HR for us to better address the issues at hand. We look at feedback from our employees as input that we can use to get better.
