Used to be a great place to work

Pros

Initially great work environment, great management, great job all around. Lots of variety in the workload and daily tasks. Great environment, generally good customer contacts.

Cons

PowerSchool went independent in early 2015. Since then, the company leaders have made decisions to lessen the quality of the customer service agents. Work environment has gone downhill, and all the good managers jumped ship. Those who leave are too busy sucking up to each other to manage effectively.

Other Reviews Are From New Hires and don't reflect "Legacy" Employees

Pros

The "Legacy" employees and some of the new ones are great to work with.

Cons

Since the acquisition benefits have been cut drastically. All of the upper management positions have been filled by people from other Vista Equity Companies. Whole departments have been cut since PowerSchool doesn't believe in Contract Employees. Employees who were with the company prior to the acquisition are referred to as "Legacy", definition of legacy "denoting software or hardware that has been superseded but is difficult to replace because of its wide use."

Great Company Culture and Growth Potential

Pros

PowerSchool is a great company to work for. The work atmosphere is fun and everyone is very friendly and helpful. From day one new employees are made to feel welcomed and immediately part of the PowerSchool family. When I tell friends or family about my job their response is often about how lucky I am to have found such a great job with a perfect balance of fun and work. The executives know employees on a first name basis and truly are there to help with whatever is needed. There is also a sense of tech start up in the company which makes things exciting and keeps any job from becoming mundane. Overall, I feel lucky to have the opportunity to work for such a great company and can't wait to see what the company achieves in the upcoming years.

Cons

I can't really think of a negative for PowerSchool. As mentioned previously, the salary for entry level positions could be higher but any entry level employee at any company would tell you that.
