Pros

PowerSchool has a great culture! Everyone is warm, welcoming and fun. It truly is a pleasure to come to work here every day and be surrounded by brilliant, passionate people who strive to better the education system. The company has a nurturing attitude in regards to its employees and it promotes from within. This is a great place to get an entry level job and build out your career.

Cons

I can't think of many cons to working here. The starting pay for entry level jobs isn't always very high, but it evens out with the bonus package, all the benefits of working here and the upward mobility.

Pros

The people and the culture is outstanding. While under Pearson ownership, we were named the second best company for working mothers. The company provides state of the art tools for technology. Freedom and encouragement to innovate, innovate, innovate! Beautiful new building (come next year). Explosive growth due to acquisition will create new opportunities for many.

Cons

Degree of uncertainty under new ownership. Certain changes stemming from the acquisition have been implemented a little roughly. Some other reviewer had mentioned the aptitude test that existing employees were required to take, with some fairy tale explanation that just made people even more suspicious. Recent cutting back on the choices and quality of benefits, as well as time off. Vista Equities is struggling to offer benefits that are on par with what Pearson had offered, but they've pledged to try to improve on it, after they realized its effect on morale. The current ownership has an expiration date, since it is merely an investment by a private equity firm. You can count on the company getting sold again in a few years.
