Pros

Depending on the area you work in it has great pay. The benefits are excellent. Smaller company with focus on safety and a good work environment.

Cons

You may work all the time, on call, a lot of overtime, no days off. Volatile work environment if you do not work at the company headquarters in California, meaning you may get laid off at any moment at other branches other than California. Extreme lack of management at all levels, they are way under qualified for their positions but they get what they can when lay offs are inevitable in the company. You are a number PERIOD, company comes in at a moments notice and can cut the entire branch, from the branch manager down the ladder. If you are not a manager you are almost treated as if you are not a part of the company. Managers get the same pay every month, and leave the office after work is completed for the day. Non managers work at all hours for many hours, as needed by the company, or you might lose a bulk of your pay the next month due to lack of work. No steady work schedule or pay.

Pros

* Competitive rates * They give employees monthly rent

Cons

I would not recommend anyone to work here. This company has too much favoritism, and the supervisors look down on minority race workers. ( the structure of the company is weak because the hours and tasks issued to employees depends on the Dispatch's decision. So if the dispatch doesn't appreciate you as a worker he will give you the worst jobs and hours. r

That 70s Company

Pros

Ability and freedom to accomplish tasks the way you think will work best in the field. Ability to try new things and acquire new skills. I found the dental, and 401K plan were very adequate.

Cons

RFR has stacks of paperwork required to do just about anything with a real 70s feel. I swear you can hear "Sky Rockets In Flight" when you walk into one of their branches. Supervisors smoked in work trucks making a driving very unpleasant and unhealthy. Management preached safety but wouldn't fund it. Company claims to be "A safe environmentally responsible workplace." but actually could care less. You really need good old boy type connections or really suck up and turn to the dark side for any chance of real advancement. RFR has large amount of well pampered management and sales staff compared to workers. Very poor communication, direction and mentoring were the norm. Installations were rushed, chaotic and undermanned.
