Kiss up to management and you will do fine.

Pros

Decent pay. Co-Workers were great.

Cons

Sales management on the corporate level is a joke. You can be a complete screw up and still have a job as long as you kiss up to management. Too many meetings and wasted time on unnecessary reports. A lot of internal fighting/finger pointing between sales and operations. The CRM upgrade was the nail in the coffin.

Pros

Good pay great room for advancement and no micromanaging. The benifits are about the same as the military

Cons

Little to know experienced people in the field trying to do stuff for the first time. Sometimes we would go away for a couple of weeks at a time.

Pros

Good benefits, good 401k plan, a lot of good people. Pay is decent but you have to work and beg for it.

Cons

Stuck in their old ways, afraid to change. Hold people accountable for profitability but do not let them make any decisions.

Bad management everywhere

Pros

Decent pay, fun co-workers, good benefits

Cons

No training, awful upper management only looking at their potential for bonuses. Branch has little or no actual decision making ability. You can't fire anyone even if they are incompetent or stealing from you. You have to send all your good equipment out to other branches and pay to get crap in from other places. Very very badly ran. Anyone that has any respect for themselves or any integrity won't last long here. All the good employees quit within 2 years. The ones that stay...... Well they are the problems.

Pros

High base pay with average commissions.

Cons

The company is old and family owned, which is great in that they try to take care of employees and promote from within, the problem is there is a lot of favoritism and therefore a lot of unqualified managers in the company. Blame tends to get deflected down regardless of who's at fault. If you are an entry level employee you better have thick skin and be prepared to document your job performance to protect yourself. The expectation is that if you are salaried you WILL work well in excess of 40 hours per week and as a Sales Rep., even though there is a schedule that's supposed to rotate, expect to be on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The company's internal processes are a mess. You have to receive approval from management for nearly everything you do and will be second-guessed on your schedule and how you prioritize your time on a regular basis regardless of how well you perform. Also, be prepared to spend the majority of your time filling out paperwork and waiting on their ridiculously slow networks.

Pros

Very interesting work place, no two days are the same. Company does a myriad of different applications from water transfers, sewer bypasses, power plant work, liquid storage, dust control it just goes on and on. I also like that even though the company is so big it still has a small business feel at the branch level. The Lake family is also very kind and are great to have as bosses. Company has great benefits, pay is good and you are recognized when you do well.

Cons

Company needs to continue to invest in rental fleet because sometimes demand is higher than supply. It is a real bummer when you cannot help a do a job specially when they want us to do it due to not having the proper equipment on hand. Grow the rental fleet more, specially pumps.

Pros

as a sales representative with Rain for Rent, you make your own schedule. They have competitive pay and good benefits.

Cons

Every employee is on call 24/7. The workload for industrial sales representatives is quite extensive. Expect to work at home most days when coming home if you want to be successful.
